“Turn off the car!” the police can be heard repeatedly yelling at the driver, 27-year-old George Lopez. Lopez was initially stopped by cops near Dyckman Street and Payson Avenue in Inwood around 4 a.m. after he was spotted driving in the bike lane, police sources told the Post. He then refused to get out of the car or open his window, police said.

Thank God those cops had enough self-awareness to get the frick out of the way when he started moving. Way too many get tunnel vision and try to jump in the car with them or reach in and turn it off, only to get drug down the street or run over.

Your thread title would be a lot cooler if it was “George Lopez nearly runs over NY cops Video in link”

If the cops would have shot him, cries or excessive force begin.
If the cops let him go and he runs down 50 people on the sidewalk, cops get blamed for not stopping him.
