Ya, I was at friends house on the river yesterday afternoon. The jet skiers are crazy. The people that take their 70ft yachts down it dont care about anyone and will swamp boats with no disregard for anyones safety.
I really only try to go on it during the week. I'll watch from the shore on the weekends.

She had to be hypothermic with the stormy conditions overnight.

Have a friend who lost his dad. His mom and dad were out, the mom hit a wave and didn't see husband, impaled his chest.

This thread was a lot like that "do you swim in the bayou?" thread.
When I saw the title of that one, it read about like "do you eat food?". By the end, I wouldn't have even dipped my toe in most of the bodies of water I swam in as a child.
(And they're probably a lot cleaner and safer now.)

coming. The latest update I have is, She was barely alive and coded last night. She has anoxic brain injury. They have her on a vent and hypothermic therapy as she was in the cold river water for 14 hours. Her body was full of water. They will start warming her up tomorrow and do many tests to see how her brain activity is. But today she squeezed her mom's hand and moved her eyes toward her. My brother is with her now. We don’t know much more then that and he is asking everyone to

“Laura is leaving us peacefully. She’s fought so hard but the injuries are too much for her to survive. We don’t want her to suffer any longer so we’re saying our goodbyes.
I’m so sorry this has happened to you, you didn’t deserve it. You are so beautiful inside and out and you have many people that will miss you dearly. I promise to take care of your brother and your family through this tough time and forever after that. Please watch over us Laura. Rest easy sweet girl.“
