Good luck with semiquincentennial

Quarter millennial seems like a far easier title for this year's celebration

The country was not invaded by 50 million foreigners at that time. Literally 30% of this country is here just for welfare and money and feels no other connection to the country. New York City is comprised of like 60% foreign born inhabitants... the mayor feels closer to an African nation than his own city. Its not a shock its not the same. Has absolutely everything to do witn dumping millions of foreigners into the country.

I dunno. But I know 50 years ago my mom sewed me an outfit and made me dress up like a patriot and march in our small town's parade.

Pics of Mom (from 1976) please.

This is a bigger one to me because I was 4 in 1976.

I was 15. I turned 16 on July 28th and became a lifeguard at the neighborhood pool (I had already passed the test, but couldn't actually work as a lifeguard until I turned 16). That was a great summer.

The build-up seemed much bigger back then. The treasury issued commemorative quarters, which I still have a bunch of.

I'm about to turn 66. I finally got into the mood about 3 days ago, and I plan to party like it is 1999 tonight.

I think it is really cool that the World Cup is happening right now and the US team is still alive.

It would have been great if it had worked out that we would play England today. That match-up might have set an American soccer viewership record.

But we have to settle for Canada / Morocco and France / Paraguay instead.

That reminds me the 1976 Freedom Train
Is anyone here old enough to remember?
A rolling 25 plus car musem of American history from 1776 to 1976.
Visited all contiguous 48 states in 1975 and 1976
Full of priceless artifacts and memorabillia. Armed guards were everywhere
Cool as shite

I remember it. We saw it when it stopped in Memphis while we were visiting family in Arkansas. I was 5 years old so, unfortunately, didn't really grasp, at that time, the significance of all the important exhibits on display in the train related to our nation's history, but the moving sidewalk that transported visitors between each train car was cool to me at that age.

Several cool 70's logos were omnipresent. I remember starting with Super Bowl X in January both the Steelers and Cowpersons had the Bicentennial Star patch on the jerseys. It was a big deal pretty much the whole year. Maybe its because I was a kid that I remember it as a much bigger deal, but I think it really was a much bigger deal.

Or maybe, just maybe it’s because the Grifter in Chief decided to make it all about his own self-aggrandizement.

Another great example of Democrats hating the country.

Thanks for proving this point, Comrade.

Are you going to force your wife and daughter to don the burqua when Mamandi tells you? I bet you will.
