Some Tamiya paint smells like candy. There’s got to be a ton of lead in it.

Yes. I do everything by hand with a brush.

Not nearly as smooth as your work but this a great Hasegawa kit and I should have weighted the nose more:

Looks great. I’ve not built the Hasegawa B-25. But I did build the Revell that’s very similar.

The crew ladder this kit came with is handy for solving the nose weight issue.

Whoa, I guess Revell and Hasegawa decided to share the same decal set.

My crew ladder still didn’t take up enough of the nose weight issue.

I stopped building models in high school, but seeing your work makes me want to get back into it

Very impressed

Do you have a Helldiver build?

I wish I did. Closest I’ve got is an Avenger I built a few years ago.

That happens a lot. Some companies even buy old molds from other companies and rerelease kits under their own label. The Atlantis line of models that are sold at Hobby Lobby are all really old Monogram kits from the 50s & 60s.

Very cool. I tinkered with these as a kid. I recall spilling the little glass bottle of blue paint on my grandmother's dining room table. She never cussed but I bet she wanted to that day. I was working on my other grandfather's F4U Corsair model.

WalMart used to have an entire section devoted to glue-together and Snap Tight models.

I’ve always really favored the Avenger’s small gun turret, forward of the real wheel.

I have this kit Helldiver kit but haven’t built it:

It looks to be pretty detailed. Decent decals but Academy decals have been hit or miss for me (too thick).

That’s why I do all my work on my mode desk up on my model room. I found me a nice wooden desk at a thrift store for $10 and it’s perfect for modeling. And if I get paint or something on it it’s no big deal.

When I was a kid back in the 70s and early 80s anyone we went to K-Mart I got either a Star Wars toy or a model. The model isle there at that time was epic.

Where’d you find it? I like Academy kits for the most part.

Have you tired these?

If not give them a try. They’re great. Just follow the directions on the bottle.

Luckily, I got the Helldiver kit in Baton Rouge at Hobby Towne on Airline Hwy.

Shout out to them, they have an incredible selection of models. I asked if they had a Helldiver kit and it took an employee about three minutes to find it for me.

Please don’t ban me TD admins for the shout out.

EDIT: I’ll try the Micro Set/Sol. I have the Testors version and it isn’t worth a crap.

I use to use nothing but Testors paint and cement. But their quality isn’t good now. I have much better results with Tamiya.
