And I get that the Demon has a little more hp than 760 but for some reason Ford has always done a better job as far as acceleration goes putting the power to the ground. Amazing feat with IRS.
It’s that Ford rear end. They still make the best. My dad had muscle cars when he was growing up and still had some when my brothers and I were kids. As far as muscle cars are concerned his favorites were MOPARs 67-70. MOPARs had great engines in that era from the 426 hemi, 440 mag/ wedge, 340 that came in Dusters. They were great cars. Being around those muscle cars when I was young in the 80-90s I was amazed at how many MOPARS, Chevrolet’s had a Ford 9”. It seemed regardless of manufacturer all the older muscle cars at the the track had Ford 9”.

The Demon was literally designed for 1/4 racing, so road racing is a moot point. The old “the challenger can’t take a turn” schtick is old and tired. While the assessment that the challenger does not handle as well as some of its competitors is true, it holds its own just fine especially given that its built on an old (mid/late 2000’s) Mercedes sedan chassis.
That said, the challenger is a GT car, mustang and camaro are pony cars...there are notable size and weight differences.”
I’ve raced 3 Hellcats on the street. Dead stop 1/4 mile. Beat every one by s size able margin. They can’t hook up.

Same goes for the new GT500..,.don’t see how it’s gonna put 760 HP to the ground. Tires can only take so much. Very interested in real world performance.
