Mach is airspeed. These planes didn’t exceed normal airspeed

good evening passengars thanks for flying Virgin. Although we are 45 minutes early, the gate is not yet prepared so we will be sitting on the ramp for 45 minutes but please stay in your seats with seatbelts fastened, no restrooms available either"

They only had 6 hours to let the gate know they were arriving early.

I took flights to CDG from Pittsburgh a couple of times. It was in a 757 - the only narrow body I’ve ever flown over the Atlantic. Delta retired the flight a few years later and I think BA picked up a flight to Heathrow on a Dreamliner since.

On days like that with a strong head wind on the return, I bet the trip back to CDG is next to impossible on that 757.

American does shite like this all the time.

They land 15-20 min late at DFW on their flights from the west coast habitually. About one time in 5, there will be trucks parked in front of the gate or there are no agents. So the plane sits for 30 minutes and everyone misses their connection.

Always a welcome sight when you have had a long hitch offshore and you are ready to go home.

200+ mph tailwind, 800+ mph total and only 20 min early?

Guessing they had all kinds of fricking delays, late departure.
