B52’s buzz North Bossier routinely
Eh, could that be due to .. Barksdale, where they're stationed being in Bossier?

Barksdale is the HQ of two bomb wings of the 8th Air Force, so downvote away.

I saw 2 military helicopters flying very low in BR a couple years ago but they were almost dead silent. I know they were not CH53's but which ones would be almost silent? I couldn't hear them until after they passed over my head. Anyone w military experience know these?

Well, they could be UH-60s, AH-64s, MH-6s, CH-47s, etc. Most likely not CH-47s, but depending on the wind, the terrain, how fast and how high the aircraft is flying, you may barely hear anything because of the doppler effect and other factors. 160th has UH-60s and CH-47s which I think have additional noise baffling tech installed, but they were almost certainly not in Baton Rouge.
If you've ever seen a flyover at a stadium, and seen the jets, but heard them only after they'd passed over the stadium, that's the doppler effect, in essence. You wouldn't think you'd not be able to hear F-18s until they were 50 yards past you, but that's what happens. Watch this video of an A-10 gun run, and note how you see shite get explody before you hear the BRRRT of the gun firing. Sorta the same.
