Did they really think this young Black man not long out of a very liberal university was going to be some type of savior? This is Louisiana politics at its finest, except this time it’s a young Black man and the powers that be around here can’t have that.

I have little doubt that he’s guilty as sin, he’s just not and never will be part of the good old boys club. He evidently came out swinging and he doesn’t have the political pull needed to get away with being crooked.

There was a time long ago, like 50+ years ago, that despite the stinky-arse paper mill, Bogalusa was a very nice and thriving town. But some of the industry dried up (the bag and box plant for example), and the young people moved out to find better jobs. Then the old folks who had lived there their entire lives started dying, and before long all that was left was the culcha.

There is zero reason to live there. There is nothing worthwhile in that town. If you want to do some decent shopping, you have to drive to Covington. The high school has gone completely to shite. There just isn't anything positive there.
