Boxers are too hyper for my tastes.

I take her out in the backyard and make her run sprints. it's doesn't make her 100% calm, but it makes her less energetic in the house
darth, every boxer I've been around has been a big ole teddy bear, mine included. they're very patient will children as well. they let them do just about anything to them without growling or anything.

My neighbors down the street have two boxers. They come out and bark and growl at the kids who wait for the school bus in the morning. They also come out barking up a storm anytime anyone is walking along the road. If a UPS truck plowed them both over tomorrow I wouldn't shed a single tear. The owners need to chain those nuisances up. Anyway, hopefully yours won't be such an a-hole. But damn they are ugly dogs too.

Most of these dogs that kill kids aren't even pit bulls. They are either staffordshires or American bullies.

I have 4 kids aged 15,12,8 and 3. All girls except the 8 year old. I own a house in a S/D that was started in 06. It was developed as a 72 lot S/D with lots ranging from 3/4 to 1 acre in size. As with most every development starting around that time, the developer went into foreclosure due to the bubble bursting. So,only 10 homes were built. And we are all spaced rather wide with 5-6 lots in between homes.....often more. Everybody, except one family has a dog. These dogs all are familiar with each other and the neighborhood kids so we are fell pretty safe.(only two bigger dogs....both labs)
But I have started carrying my .38 with me when at home and my kids are playing outside or we are walking down to someone's house. Not for any of these dogs I know but because we have large roaming dogs that come through our neighborhood all the time. Just roaming unattended. Have yet to see a Pit but have seen some big labs and some mixed breeds. Kids, tend to think all dogs are nice and friendly. I continue to reinforce to my 8 and 3 year olds to NEVER approach or try and draw the attention of an unknown dog into our yard. I carry the gun in the event that I have to react quickly to an incident where a stray has roamed into our neighborhood and is attacking one of my kids. I usually see them and walk torwards them and move them along if they are passing by my house. My kids have been taught well enough that they will also yell and run torwards me letting me know there is an unknown dog in sight. I just don't trust any large dog roaming around to be anywhere close to my kids.

There's an awesome reason why your homeowners insurance is higher if you have a pitbull.
because trailers attract tornados?

Research from DogsBite.org shows that during the 9-year period from 2005 to 2013, these two breeds accounted for 74% of the total recorded fatal attacks.

My neighbor has 2 young boxers. They are very playful and rarely bark at anyone they don't know. They have electric collars and stay in their yards. But they are hyper is heck! I always pick up my 3 year old when going to their door as they just jump all over you. My daughter got knocked over a couple of times so I just started carrying her when over there.

That's what I've heard and seen from them as well.

Imagine someone says that Barrack Obama is the best POTUS we've ever had then when challenged to give proof they post a link to the DNCs website.
