Technically he's right. There wouldn't be a country. The USA and CSA would have splintered further.

ISWYADH

I Posted my reasons why recently.
But yes I'm 99.999% sure with even more confidence than my board famous 2012 failure, that barring any indictment (no shot in hell) or national emergency (slightly less shot in hell) she will win comfortably.
I'm among my friends and brothers on here that are resigned to just let it burn down. I don't think we last another half century. Maybe in name, but nothing to related to the nation's founding. The parallels between us and the end of Rome are quite concerning.

Now this is a Gettysburg thread so I will say, The CSA had an amazing chance to absolutely divide the AoP in half and win on July 2nd... IF They would have advanced only 1 or 2 hours before, and it wouldnt even had been necessary had they seen the opportunity to occupy the round tops while there was nothing more than a flag signal corps up there. Sickles damn near destroyed the army, his army with his political arse-hattery. Luckily for him and for the union army Lee was even more bullheaded and the ANV got a late start. July 3 was a hail mary that had 0.0% completion rate.

The world eventually came back from the fall of Rome. Not sure that will happen with the fall of America. It will be a much more lethal entropy this time.

That's the coolest battlefield I've ever seen IRL. The charge that those soldiers made took indescribable courage. 3 days that changed the course of history.

Utterly inexplicable decision by one of the greatest military minds this nation has ever produced.

I'd love to be able to pick his brain on that one today. The only reason I can think of is that he believed that the Union center was weak and couldn't hold.

Well, with all due respect, given your prognostication on 2012, this makes me feel pretty good.

Actually, Lee probably wasn't in his right mind.

quote:

In June, Lee again led his troops in an invasion of the North, this time striking into Pennsylvania. He was not well, physically or emotionally. The symptoms of heart disease were becoming evident, and the general still grieved the death of his 23-year-old daughter, Anne Carter Lee, the previous October. He had also lost his "right arm," Stonewall Jackson, who had been mortally wounded by his own men at Chancellorsville.

If you are sure that there is only a 1/100,000 chance of a HRC loss, why don't you wager every cent you can scrape together on it? I'd leverage everything I own with that degree of certainty.

You should post this 365 days a year. Why recognize a great anniversary only annually?

Did you know that, right now, exactly 153 years and three days ago, General Lee gave his order to General Heth to take care not go become involved in a general engagement?

One hour from now, you can post this:

"Did you know that, right now, exactly 153 years, ONE HOUR, and three days ago, General Lee gave his order to General Heth to take care not go become involved in a general engagement?"

Point is, one can make these "military history reminder" posts very frequently. One needn't wait to do it annually.

You misunderstood my post.

He's prognosticating a Hilary win. Given his track record, I feel more confident that it won't happen now.

If LSU had scored 22 points that night against Bama, we would have been champions. Please lord, let us go back....
