At around 10, my son practiced at least 3 days/week at 2-3 hours/day in rec ball. He never played travel ball, but a lot of his buddies did as they got older. They practiced roughly the same. He's now a freshman in high school and they practice more more than MLB. Prior to season, 4 days/3-4 hours organized through the school and 2 days "voluntary" bp at the cages. During the season, whatever days they weren't playing so he was either playing or practicing 6 days a week. Now, he's in summer ball with the school. It's a little more laid back.
My two cents on travel ball v. rec ball. As I said, my son played only rec and started jv this year, but was called up to varsity 3 weeks into the season. There is not a noticeable difference between him and other freshman/sophomore who did play travel ball, AND I saved thousands and countless road trips by not going travel ball.

Bingo. Baseball players are made in practice, not in games.

You're right and wrong.

They all need reps, reps is what makes them good.

But innings makes them better.

For kids 12 and under, they don't need 4 plus games a weekend over a 3-4 month period (or more). How many reps will they get at the plate? How many ground balls will the 3B get in a weekend? 10 tops? What about the outfielders? Not nearly enough for the time spent out there. They could get 100 ground balls or fly balls and get a bunch of quality cuts in 1 hour on a weekend and that will develop them far more as long as they are being taught good technique.

I have seen a fair amount of 10-12u majors level travel ball and have been mostly unimpressed with their fundamentals and understanding of the game. There are some good coaches out there but not a lot. Again though, I think practice, not all the games, would be more beneficial. Travel ball is too focused on the weekends and the games.

You can practice all week long but if you aren't playing games, watching live pitching, live balls coming off the bat, real situations, you're going to get stagnant.

Kids 10 and up need innings. Practices alone will burn them out.

I didn't say they shouldn't play games. They absolutely should. I just think they play way too many games without much practice.
