Sad thing is even if they wanted to, w the way the contracts are structured they can’t. Keep going into seasons w record breaking cap issues basically forces them to keep kicking the proverbial can until they can no longer kick it. Hell, they are already between $86M (per OTC) and $100M (per spotrac) over next years cap. Which means they need to kick as much of that into 2026 as they can, then repeat in 2027, 2028…

That’s the major problem and the huge gorilla in the room.
To strip this down and rebuild from scratch….would take several years to strip the team of players screwing up the cap Long-term…
As a result…. for several years… the 7-8 wins per season would probably drop to 4 to 5 wins per season and then everyone would get fired (maybe even Loomis).
Loomis won’t do this…. and he keeps hoping Saints will have a generational draft or two to save his butt !!!
