all im saying is he's been kinda slacking since superbowl. Im not saying he sucks, but man he was on a high when Sharper was in the back field, now hes got some catching up to do and make some tackles or P. Robinson will get the starting job. I also never said he couldnt cover, he just hasnt been tackling very well, that also goes for half our defense. lol... I know they'll get it together though, its just pre season.

i think its ok to call out players who are slacking, despite what others say on here. Porter has shown that his tackling ability has suffered. Just look at the Seattle game. It once again happened last night. imo, it looks like he is trying to do more "side tackling" instead of full contact to possibly avoid injuries.

I trust Williams will put on the tape and beat this back into Porter's head though. I wouldnt worry too much right now

Since he's been with the Saints Porter's tackling has been the weakest part of his game. Now granted tackling one on one in open field isn't easy, he still hasn't improved in that area at all in his time with the team.

He isn't physically imposing even by CB standards. The amount of injuries is more of a big deal tho. This is a critical year for him since it's contract time next year. GW has been easing him back playing nickel and letting PRob man the corner. If PRob excels (so far, so good) he might muscle the job away fulltime. I think TP needs to have a full healthy & productive year or he could be let go ala Shockey.

I'd venture to guess he's probably also leading the team in missed tackles He's getting to the right spot and just whiffing most of them. Hell I think he had 10 missed tackles just against the Texans.

But the sky isn't falling, the corners won't always been left alone to tackle runningbacks, nor should they. Jenkins and Harper will be doing a lot of that.
