Would Sean Payton still be here if he didn't get married? I've always thought CSPs relationship with the Saints (The Benson Organization) was damaged beyond repair when CSP was made the fall guy for the whole fake bounty gate fiasco and subsequently suspended for the entire 2012 season and Benson seemed to just roll over and take it and not fight tooth and nail for him even after it was proven that several other teams did the same thing which wasn't even as bad as they claimed.
Benson did fight for CSP. The NFL tried everything it could to get Benson to fire CSP after Bountygate but Benson refused. CSP and Tom Benson were on good terms with each other until Tom’s death. CSP used to go talk to Mr Benson every morning when Benson was still in good health. It wasn’t until after Benson started being in bad health that CSP began looking at jumping ship. He could see the writing on the wall that the organization was screwed once Benson died.

If he was Gay he would still be here.

Look to what happened just a few months before.
It was announced that a succession plan had been put into place. A plan that included Loomis and fat Dennis L by name and strangely didn’t include the man who built the brand the Saints had become. No matter what was said publicly Loomis’ rotten arse stabbed him in the back. Payton deserved a bigger piece of the pie.
The team at that time could have been rebuilt just as easily as Denver.
