That's why I think Brooks is 2nd behind Brees right now. Geez, I hope that changes before I die.

yup. and like I just said earlier if Brooks could of had the dome patrol defense he could of been even better.

yeah its pretty tough to determine where brooks and manning fit, but could easily be #2, which is very scary.
if we dont find someone who could be a better #2, god help us

this was my initial reaction, but if you look at career stats and team wise, brooks was much better than bobby in every category
agreed, bobby is fun and tried his best but Brooks has the numbers along with some great (and infamous) plays.

you know whats nuts, is brooks was coached under Mike McCarthy. i would say a lot of his success can be attributed to great coaching because while the guy obviously had talent, he was one dumb a-hole.

Local guy, went to a local college, had the local accent. It's understandable.
I remember being so happy when he signed with the Saints.
Ran into him and his wife with their oldest kid(who was in a stroller at the time) in AstroWorld. He was the nicest and most polite person you'd want to meet.
Then he went to the Falcons.....

I've only been watching since '81 when Bum Phillips came in.
Archie Manning
Dave Wilson
Bobby Scott
Ken Stabler
Richard Todd
Bobby Hebert
John Fourcade
Steve Walsh
Tommy Kramer
Mike Buck
Wade Wilson
Jim Everett
Tommy Hodson
Doug Nussmeier
Heath Shuler
Bobby Joe Hobert
Danny Wuerffel
Billy Joe Tolliver
Kerry Collins
Jake Delhomme
Jeff Blake
Aaron Brooks
Todd Bouman
Jamie Martin
Drew Brees
Mark Brunell
Chase Daniel
There are a few backups I'm sure I missed.
But the epitome of ineptitude and the zenith of my Saints QB frustration came with Heath Shuler/BJ Hobert/Danny Wuerffel Trio in '97.
We threw 33 INT's to 13 TD's that year. It might not have been our worst year ever, but for QB play is was fricking awful.

Unfortunately with Saints history compiling Worst Of lists can be a chore. Best of's are a lot easier.
There's been plenty of awful QBs fo sho. To say starter you need some minimum number. I propose 7 games at least. with that, here are the nominees (and some mentioned already)-
At THIS LINK you can click on the years, then players and see the number of games started and their stats...
won/loss after name
67 Gary Cuozzo 3-7, 7TD 12INT
69-73 Edd Hargett 1-5-1, 46.9% completions
73-81 Bobby Scott 4-10, 47.4%comp 15TD 28INT
76-77 Bobby Douglass 3-5, 48.8%comp, 5TD 11INT
82-84 Ken Stabler 11-11, not bad enough
84-85 Richard Todd, 6-8, not bad enough
90-93 Steve Walsh, actually had a winning record & more TDs than INTs
97 Heath Shuler 4-5, 2TD 14INT
97-99 Billy Joe Hobert 4-8, not so terrible numbers
98 Kerry Collins 2-5, 49%comp, 4TD10 INT
98-99 Billy Joe Tolliver 2-9
Scott had a long dreadful run but most of his starting was for Archie injuries (ditto Hargett). I look more at the guys who were the named starter. The terrible 3-13 '99 season was split between both the Billy Joes at 1-6 each. That's a strong case. Shuler is a contender. I always marveled how many guys started for the Saints, then left, and never played a game for anyone else after that. Collins as an active alcoholic deserves consideration. Bang for the buck though I'm gonna go Cuozzo. He was emblematic of the first two decades of the franchise. They gave up the #1 overall pick in the draft for a backup QB who couldn't even stay starting for a season for the worst team in the league. He lost his job to an expansion pick player that was originally drafted as a running back primarily.

That's the tough part.
You want to brand him one of the worst QB's ever, but he was such a great guy who had a great college career, and it could have been a great story.
But he little pro talent (at best, camp-body arm), and Ditka simply had no business putting him on the field.
