What was the purpose of signing Lofton then? In the 2011 draft, Denver, who runs a 4-3, took the highest rated 3-4 edge rusher of the draft in Von Miller and it has worked wonders for them so it can be done.

Jarvis Jones would be a great addition but this defense needs more than him to even be adequate.

I think Spag will push for D-Line help myself. His Giants defenses always had top rated D-Linemen that could pass rush and stop the run.

We'd be better off trading for a dozen mid-late round picks. Most of our defense is first round guys and they suck. Even our first round RB sucks. We find all-stars in the late rounds and pick the shiny turds from the first round. Maybe they should just draw up a draft board and whoever they have on it don't pick them.

Why the hell not? Season's fricked anyway.

Take Jones as a #1, and then pick up the Honey Badger as a free agent.

trade down to 5 for picks then take a difference maker on the line

moore from tamu or montgomery

would kill for clowney, also curious as to how athletic werner is from FSU or if he is more of a cam clone, would like more speed off the edge rather than more of a run stuffer.

The first thing we need is to secure the offensive line

are you retarded?

I often wonder about some of the people on this board. An offensive lineman? Really? Anyone who has watched the Saints this year and thinks we don't need to draft defense first is a retard. Specifically we need a pass rusher. Our pass rush is terrible. Some guys may be promising, but we still need someone elite. Only thing that bothers me about Jones is that neck injury from when he was younger. Montgomery may not be bad, but LSU d linemen historically don't do well in the NFL.

You are basically an idiot if you think some team isn't going to give Tyrann Mathieu a shot. Too big a talent in the slot corner position that is valuable due to the pussification of the nfl and all these 3 and 4 wr sets

we run a 4-3 defense.

we run it like shite.

i really never thought i'd feel this way.. but i wouldn't mind seeing the saints go to a 3-4 and start drafting some beastly linebackers.. like a clay matthews. give me the bpa.. and that is te-o

If you have an opportunity to draft an elite pass rusher, which I'm not sure mingo is, and your defense is historically awful. I don't care what scheme he fits, you run that scheme

x's about a billion. i am so sick of the saints passing on elite defensive players in the draft bc of this.

Best answer.

Load up on 2nd and 3rd rounders. And of course 7th too. Spags is showing the lack of raw talent we have on def.. We need as many pics as Loomis can manage to get us.

so besides Kyle Williams how about you tell me of one LSU defensive lineman that you would consider a solid NFL starter. RJF maybe? Go back to the rant.

Yeah, Williams is the only one I can think of that's done something. I wouldn't say RJF has done well. Then you have Dorsey and Jackson. Neither has done much. I mean, Dorsey has been mediocre I guess. Maybe that's because he isn't being used like he should be.

LINK

This shows the d-linemen drafted in the past 9 seasons. Williams is the standout. Spears has been productive at times. Other than that, there isn't much there.
