Great value deal for a backup QB. Saves about $8M in cap space! As someone else mentioned you cannot ask for much better resume' for a backup QB.
I'm very surprised he came back. Payton was the one who brought him in, not Allen, and after he lost his starting job while injured last season even after some so-so games from Dalton I am really surprised Winston wanted to come back. I would have put money on him following Payton Denver as a back up if he couldn't have gotten a chance to compete somewhere for QB1 like the Commanders, Jets, Colts, Titans

Any details on this yet? Did he just agree to a reduced base year salary? So his 12.8M salary is now 4M? Or is his total cap hit 4M (which would make his base 1.2M)?

Good news for the Saints, it at least allows them to get something for the money owed to Winston.

Yeah that instead of listening to fans bitch, boo and scream bench him, no matter what you do and someone else fricks up, he can just sit on the bench with his iPod playing while getting paid 4 million a year. Hell sign me up for that job lol

He's a capable backup. Lowering his cap number this year and next would be great
