The Saints have stayed away from problem prospects recently and have gone high-character since guys like Gallette. Hard pass.

Would rather go after Davion Taylor or someone who isn’t a head case.

Fair enough. I'm certainly not saying he's without risk. I just see a hole at lb that I think gay could fill very well if he keeps his emotion in check. I'm hardly a "draft a state player" kinda guy like most the LSU crowd here, but I love gay's potential

REUBEN FOSTER
LB, WASHINGTON REDSKINS

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports Redskins LB Reuben Foster recently regained feeling in his foot after suffering from nerve damage stemming from tears of his ACL, MCL and LCL.
He suffered those injuries during practice last May. Foster's agent Malki Kawa confirmed the linebacker's nerve is "starting to fire up again" following months of numbness and not being able to lift his foot. Through use of stem cell therapy and a hyperbaric chamber, the 2017 first-rounder has made "significant improvement," though there's still no timetable for his return. Kawa is hopeful Foster will participate in some fashion during training camp but also acknowledged that the former Alabama standout has a "long way to go" in his recovery.

Lots of posters wanted this guy. Many other posters pointed out his character flaws & injury prone history. Those were some good threads.

The threads concerning Jarvis Jones & Randy Gregory were gold as well. Lots of posters wanted those guys too. There was even a melt when Jones was passed over for Kenny Vaccaro. Let's review all 3 of those guys NFL careers.

Jarvis Jones: Unathletic bust who hasn't come close to producing the sack numbers he did at UGA.

Randy Gregory: Has anxiety issues & because of that, he would rather get high than play football. Has had multiple substance related suspensions & is currently suspended indefinitely.

Reuben Foster: Enjoys beating his girlfriend, collecting guns that are illegal in the state of California, smoking weed & threatening nurses at the combine. When not doing those things, he is suffering significant injures that have kept him off the field of play. He has missed more games than he has played in over 3 year "career".

I was not one of them. I was happy in the draft thread when we drafted Ram. We needed a stud o lineman

Best was Mahomes pick meltdown.

Same here. I'm even happier now about Ram but back then I was just excited we passed on Foster because I felt strongly about him being a bust due to either character issues or injuries. Foster has lived up to that & then some. It was post combine, pre draft talk where all the "fun" occurred. These 2 were gold.

Foster pre draft thread

More Foster talk

Not sure how anyone could not see all the red flags. Funny how his pro career has been exactly what we thought.

It's a great example of humans can look at a picture & have totally varying opinions on that exact picture. Some chose to see what they want to, others are biased & try to make others see what may or may not be there.

I'm with you, Foster's future in the NFL appeared to as clear as day. I personally went to great detail to back my opinion with statements & facts from those who coached & covered Foster at Alabama yet at times in those threads, I was accused of being biased or dumb.

That said I hope this kid from State can turn it around and be successful. No one wants to see these kids fail but some of them are just a bad seed and its harder to root for them.

He only played in 4.5 games. His first game he played (UK) he got booted for personal fouls in the first half. He has issues big time.

He basically got his HC fired.

I agree about Moorhead. I wonder if they dragged his yankee arse out of there.

When i saw Gay flying all over the field vs Louisville is when I thought Moorhead was not the coach for me. I don't think you can build a winner in two years unless you're Saban, but State never felt ready to play to me. Kinda like early 2010's Les Miles teams.

Nothing about this dude says "future Saint". I doubt he is even on their lift. I wouldn't be surprised to see him go undrafted.

Until he gets tossed for targeting. Pass. He's closer in character to Burfict than Davis.
