That’s funny. But the answer is no.

She’s not too versed on Saints issues. She has people to take care of all that stuff.

In May of 2014, Tom Benson fell at an owner’s meeting. He was presenting the proposal for New Orleans to get the 2018 Superbowl. He hit his head and went into a health decline.

Minnesota was selected for the 2018 game. Benson got into it with Goodell and the accident occurred. Benson was never the same.

Loomis became the defacto owner for the Saints even before Gayle Benson became the owner.

There is no way that Gayle Benson wants anything to do with any of the shenanigans that go on between the owners and Goodell. She stays out of it. Her husband’s accident did impact her hands off ownership.

There are 2 things wrong with this statement.

First, cities do not bid each other for the Super Bowl anymore. Cities are pre-selected by the league and then invited to make a presentation. Cities do not make competing presentations.

Second, Mickey Loomis is not the highest ranking person in the Saints/Pelicans organization. Dennis Lauscha is. If anyone is the "de facto" owner, it is him. And, they have never hidden that fact.

And, by the way, the whole premise of the original post is flawed. Amy Adams Strunk has been very heavily criticized in Nashville for firing Vrabel and then sending the GM to do the press conference.

In “2014” New Orleans was the expected choice for the 2018 Super Bowl. The owners did vote at that meeting and selected Minnesota. Benson did champion New Orleans at the meeting and thought he had secured the votes to get the game. The selection process has changed since “2014”.

Dennis Lauscha Is the President but Loomis can still be the defacto owner for Gayle and the late Mr Benson.

Did I hit a nerve, Roger bot?
