Why did it take so long to get into the Dome yesterday?

Hell I was in line 45 minutes before kickoff and damn near missed it. Usually it takes about 20 minutes to go from being in line to being in my seat.
not complaining, just wondering if something with security changed and this is going to be the norm from here on out

I heard that the ticket scanners were having issues scanning yesterday, which was causing the delay. I know when they scanned mine, it took a few times.

Heard it was the scanners. Took a few seconds longer than usual for my tickets to scan. I’m sure that added up.

The scanners take 1/20 of the time it takes for the security process. The build up and delay is at security not after you pass security. The lines at security were 40 yards long the line at scanning was non-existent.

0 issues getting into gate G about an hour before kickoff. Like walk right up to the door and in.

that's weird. I walked right in and there was no line at all at Gate G but we got in the dome around 11:20. Guess we beat the rush?

Future Reference. Use Gate G. You don't have to sit in the line based on what gate is says on your ticket.

For what it's worth, the scanners were an issue yesterday. We stood still right at the metal detectors for a good 15-20 minutes watching as no one entered any of the doors. When it got moving again we got to the door and it took 5 or 6 swipes of my wife's ticket before reading it. The ticket taker commented that she hoped the system wasn't going down again. I asked if that were the earlier problem, and she said they'd been having trouble since opening.
