There is no place for this bullshite in sports. the Saints should be thankful they didn't shut down the whole franchise.
What kind of message does that shite send to young players and coaches. Shameful. Criminal, even.

What do you think of the whole mess? The tapes reinforced the worse behavior possible.
That dude should never coach again. And anyone else who is doing it. I would be just as disgusted if it was LSU that did this.

Id bet money on it. Whether its money or helmet stickers or w/e the case the DC and the guys in the lockerrom that play for our scary hard hitting beast Defense talk about hitting people and injuring them on a daily basis and its part of the pregame speech dont be a naive little shite. Even little league they do this shite. Its football. The defenses job is to hit people as hard as they can. Big stops, big plays, big hits its what drives football.

They are all juiced, too. I don't feel sympathy for them. They are highly compensated to do it the right way.
You don't care because you don't see the influence this has on young players. And coaches.

There are plenty of ways to earn a helmet sticker without asking players to hurt people. Attach their heads and knees?
Easy call, my friend.

DA - you are like a virgin in football locker room. You have no clue what goes on and why it goes on. you are pathetic

DA -
What do you think this staff taught their players about opposing teams.....or, hell how they even treated their own.
Sad thing is, one of them goes down as one of the best coaches ever. What a difference a few years makes. Old Bear would have been crucified with today's media.

If you don't thin k this same exact speech is given in little league locker room across America I would wager you never played football.

Yeah the expression kill the head is just that, and expression. Like cutting the head off a snake. If you honestly thought he meant go out there and kill Frank Gore and Smith you are a fricking idiot. He said hit him in the chin, let him know you hit him. That called defense. And we are not friends. As for the ACL comment, yeah that may have crossed the line a little, but no players in that game did anything he asked of them which is the best evidence that this was just a motivation lockerrom speech, a really shitty one actually, and not a rant inciting a riot of violence on the football field.

I've been involved with youth sports for 15 years. I've coach several competitive youth teams. All Star teams, too.
This was over the line.
This is an easy call.

Let me add that I attended my first Saints game when I was in high school. It was in the old sugar bowl. We were all excited. The saints had won a game or two, and the Dolphins were coming to town.
Before the first quarter ended, Greiese and that bunch fillet the Saints like a salmon. It was 21-0 in the first qtr if I remember correctly.

DA-I'm not saying what was on the GW tape wasn't wrong. It was. But you have to look at what happened on the field. The Saints were the ones beaten up in that game.
I'm glad GW is gone, but come on...we're lucky the NFL didn't shut down the franchise? You say things like that and you wonder why people don't take you seriously.

That may have been a bit harsh. I understand completely about the Saints getting beat up that day. It's the leadership that needs to pay for this, imv . And this goes for any team.
Fans wonder why coaches quit two days after accepting a new job. Or players who commit to a college one day, then change their mind the next day. Or recruits who play a school until signing day.
There are no more ethics in the game.
Just my opinion. It mans squat.

There was no ethics in the game when I was playing with my friends at school. We were some cheating son of a bitches.
When I played soccer at school, every goal scored would be followed by a 20 minute argument about the validity of the goal.
Also, the NFL was a lot nastier 20 years ago.
The audio that came out was shocking to a lot of people, but no one was afraid of our defense.

remember when the NFL produced a video called The Big Hit.
No a days players like
ronnie lott
howie long
ed too tall jones
LT
the entire steelers defense from the 70's
the entire vikings DL from the late 60's to 70's
pretty much any defensive player from the 70's, 80's, and 90's.
remember when a LB or CB could come up and decleat a WR going across the middle (ask keyshone johnson).

There is no "outside ACL." I think Williams was targeting the lateral collateral ligament, which is not nearly as severe. Heck, Drew played through that in 2010.

Every team in high school and college has these speeches. Apart from the ACL.

I heard a lot worse playing back in the day. We were also told every week something along the lines of so and so has a knee problem, so and so has a bad toe, etc. No bounties, of course, but these were defineatly pointed out by our coaches.
