The only way I’ll ever feel better about it is if we make another run

Have gone through 28-3 and 21-0 as a student at LSU. It goes away man.

It’s a shitty loss regardless but the main reason we are upset is because of Drew. Story of his career, let down by his defense. If he were younger I’d get over this pretty quick. He deserves another shot at a title, and he frickin had it, man. Just sensational in the second half. That’s why this hurts.

I guess that I'm different but after winning the SB, losses like this just don't sting nearly as bad as they once did. Not to say that it doesn't suck...but it's not the soul crusher that it once was for me.

Maybe it's just the knowledge that I don't have to fear never living long enough to see them win the SB. Yeah, another one would be fantastic...but it's just not the "end all, be all" that I once thought that it was.

i felt like shite this morning due to a trophy case hangover.

but as far as the game.. meh.. I haven't watched any TV shows from ESPN or anything. Didn't listen to the radio today either.

i think the shitty loss to the 49ers a few years ago helped if that makes any sense. That loss was so unbelievable in its own right. And I swear I thought about it right before Minnesota started that last drive. I guess I'm just saying that nothing really shocks me anymore.

Even worse, just before that last play, I thought "just don't play LSU / Iowa defense."

I keep thinking to myself “why does this hurt so differently than everything else?” and I think you are onto the real reason. For me personally it’s the feeling of losing combined with knowing this was one of our last shots in the Brees era. Yes we probably have 1-2 seasons left with him but nothing is a given and this was a real shot at another long run/possible Super Bowl. The Saints post-Brees is just not what anybody wants to think about and now we are one step closer.
