When is it time to press reset button

This team isn't making playoffs this year next year or any year. We are right with the panthers who have already hit the button. At some point, you have to move on. The real enemy of excellence is not complete failure, its mediocrity. The best this team will ever be under DA is mediocre.

Saints should fire Loomis. Let new GM hire next coach. Trade vets for whatever picks are available. Rattler get as many starts as possible to see what they have there.
Jordan and Mathieu retire in offseason.

Whenever Allen is fired. That’s the first order of business before we do anything

Should have reset as soon as Brees walked out of a Covid empty Dome.
Instead, Loomis and the organization have continued to chase a ghost kicking that can down Mt. Everest it seems like now.

I thought 2021 was a damn good team. Jameis’ injury, the two bs Covid protocol games against the Dolphins and Bills, and a signature Saints WTF loss to a dreadful Giants team in the dome ruined the season. Because of how close we were to making the playoffs I actually didn’t hate the Allen hiring at the time because I felt like it was just bad luck (excluding the Giants game) that we missed the playoffs so I was in favor of trying to keep the foundation together.
However, Allen has proved once again that he sucks as a HC and should have been gone at the end of last season. If we lose Thursday and he’s not fired then it becomes obvious that DA has Mickey’s nudes.

Besides firing Allen, what does that look like exactly? Are any vets actually even tradable? Can we move Latt or AK with their current contracts? Is cutting Carr, even as a designated post June 1st move feasible with the dead cap?
I don’t think firing Loomis is the answer. He might not be great, but most NFL GMs aren’t great, and he was instrumental in keeping our window open for almost 20 years, which is unheard of for all but a handful of organizations (Pittsburgh, Patriots, Chiefs, 9ers, Ravens, Packers may be the only other ones). I’m fine with reset now, but a lot of y’all seemed all too eager for a total tank the past couple years, and I don’t think that’s the answer. I’ve seen way too many organizations bottom out and never find a way to crawl themselves out of it.
But at this point, I’m all about attaining assets and going to a youth movement. But I still don’t know what that actually looks like. Especially since we have to get under the cap somehow next year to actually filed a team. Dead money is gonna be brutal.

Until Mickey Loomis is gone, nothing will happen
Don’t even waste your time caring

Last off-season. But when you have Beavis and Butthead as heads of management, you get nowhere.
