Things change all the time. Seasons have gone from 14 to 16 games. But biggest problem with OP's stats is this; who gives a fuk what the league average was? We are talking about an individual here. What were the big passers averaging through their peak years? Moon, Marino, Fouts maybe? Look at the ballers not every 1 year starter
