Actually I don't understand the Cowboys hate

A lot of their fans and the media just make it so easy.

As a saints fan you don't "hate" the Falcons no matter who is on their team?

I grew up as a Saints fan in the 80's having good teams only to get beat in the last seconds by the 49ers year in and year out, the rivaly with them at the time was on par with the rivalry with the falcons therefore I "hated" them. I guess some habits don't die. If the falcons ever moved to a new division I'm pretty sure I would "hate" them regardless.

I don't see why anyone would dislike a former division rival...

Good deal he got up and walked away; that can be scary. and much praise for "anyone who beats the Pats"

For me it goes back to the 89's and 90's. We would get so close only to have those guys break our hearts. For me 0-16 is to good for that organization.

I should hate the 49ers from the past rivalry in the 80s in the NFC West, but I don't hate them for beating us two Saturdays ago. That loss is all on this team.

As far as the fans go, that's a different story. I don't associate the team with the fans.

not much on their hate train but I did rather see NYG to SB than them...

-they have enough Lombardis already, I prefer to see teams with fewer go before the Saints to not see their Lombardi numbers climb.

-their is some residual long term dislike from the years of heartache being very good and being stuck in the division of the dynasty of that time. (I've described my hope that this era wil be like that from us towards the dirty birds)

-Harbaugh does have an intensity that can grade ya the wrong way. Similar to Rex Ryans bravado though different in personality.

But Harbaugh is a new coach in the NFL, it's not like he's terrorized the Saints ever. frick, they just beat us to shite in the first three quarters and the Saints turned the ball over too much and didn't do shite on defense.

I don't think it has that much to do towards the Saints as it is just him as a personality. He talks a pretty strong game over the bland Payton-like coachspeak. When ya talk it that strong you're gonna stir up the detractors. Scwartz of Detroit (comparitively) is clearly an intense individual but he is more discreet and understands how whatcha say plays in the media. The Schwartz/Harbaugh handshake incident is a perfect example.

the handshake incident? it was but not anything intentional by Harbaugh IMO but does show his personality/nature. I don't call it good or bad but it is one that will cause more friction occasionally.

Yeah, I see what you're saying. Harbaugh lacks couth. Although, Schwartz is a little more polished, he still can be abrasive.

Man this thread makes me feel old, or there are a lot of recent Saints fans on here. I grew up hating the 49ers in the late 80s and early 90s as a division rival. Every time we had a good team they had a better one, it was frustrating rivalry.

I don't like the 49ers because they were allowed to cheat in the 80s and 90s because they were run by the Youngstown mafia. They broke the salary cap rules every year and got away with it. Like when they signed Deion for like 2 million less a year than what the Saints were offering.

Seriously, the 49ers were so obviously crooked that their owner got Edwin Edwards sent to jail.

cause frick'em thats why. The haurbaugh family is still sucking the dick of the bo schembeckler era and frankly it happened a long time ago and it's old. Not to mention the boys are some really pampered pussasses.
