What’s up with Taysom’s injury? Been pretty quiet about his return time on here

It’s almost like it’s just assumed he’ll be back 100% for the beginning of the season, and I’m not sure that’s the case. He got hurt pretty late in the season, and even though he won’t be on the field as much at whatever position he winds up playing, whatever that is will surely require his feet be healthy more than playing a typical QB role.

When we signed Dalton and Jameis, it was obvious Taysom’s time at QB in New Orleans was over. So, to use the parlance of the organization, they obviously have another vision for the player. But what is it and how big a part of the offense is it? I think with his age, his athleticism, concussion history, his versatility, and maybe mostly his salary, he needs to be a pretty big part of it.

Hard to know how much had to do with already having Taysom or just having limited cap space and draft capital, but we didn’t sign a free agent WR or draft one after Olave. I know with how thin we were there last year, a lot of people wanted us to double dip. We didn’t sign or draft a TE. And we didn’t sign or draft a RB (now I thought we should have, but since we picked up that Baylor kid and gave him unprecedented UDFA money, I’d have to think he’s almost a lock to make the team).

So there’s room for him to be a big part of the offense(they can move him around or he can do most of it from that hybrid H-back spot) and I think there’s need (to utilize his uniqueness, but if nothing else to justify his contract). But when the hell will he be ready to play and why is no one talking about it? Or have I just missed it?

I mean after CGM and Zion I get the concern, but those were exceptions not the rule usually most injuries are ready to go at the start of the year barring the major ones. Hell we had Kwon ready by game 2 after tearing his achillies

Even with today’s medicine, I think that was still a freak outlier. Crazy how fast he came back at what seemed like 100%.
