It would take at least a 1st, 2nd, 4th, and 7th round pick to get up there.

Meh reputation isn't as big a deal as you think it is. As long as you have a good coach (you guys do) and a strong locker room presence (Drew Brees and friends) you'll be fine.

Link?

When the so called leader of your team is embroiled in deep shite himself (Cam), how do you expect the others to act? If you surround guys with good leadership, they fall in line.

It worries me that he was a standout player for one year.

He was a JUCO transfer. That should explain some of it. As good as he was this year, he really didn't impress me that much in the Oregon game. There were a few times where nobody bothered to even block him and he was free to seek and destroy in their backfield. He's a Top 3 pick and I'd say there is a 98% percent chance we don't bother trading to move up for him.

Personally I don't know why you care, because there is no way you guys get him, but I've seen the Patriots take in some problems (Dillion, Moss, ect) and have them be massive successes. People forget that football is contact sport and some of the people that play are complete bags of shite. Talent > personality. If you have the right system in place, you can keep them honest. I just don't think hes enough of an a-hole that I wouldn't want him on my team. Now Haynesworth, on the other hand...

I said character isn't as big a factor as talent is. Its not like he's taking plays off a la Haynesworth. He looks like a high motor guy who is just an a-hole. I could go on and on about people who are fantastic at their positions, AND gigantic arse hats. Ray Lewis is not what I would call a nice guy, same with Suggs, same with Logan Mankins, and I could go on and on.

I can agree with that, but nobody on our team is dirty or an a-hole. There's a couple of guys that lay hits and bring a "nastiness" out (MJ, Shockey) but none are dirty as far as I've ever seen, and I'd like to keep it that way. It's possible Fairley would come into SP's system and tone down and not be an a-hole, but I don't like the guy.

People talk about character and what not, but I bet if Nick Fairley, or a player like him, got his hands on Marshawn Lynch, Lynch wouldn't have broken his tackle.
