Fans perception of the team has also changed. We've expected the offense to be great, and we've just been wishing for a middle of the road defense.
But we've jettisoned old and/or under-performing players, and replaced them with cheaper/better options in most cases. Our defense has a chance to be really special.
If it wasn't for this fact, I think fans would be more inclined to say "Pay the man" like with Drew.
For years it looked like you just weren't going to be able to play defense because of the rule changes being so slanted towards the offense, but defenses have seemingly adjusted. We saw one of the most prolific offenses in history be completely neutralized in the Super Bowl.
Keeping a great defense intact is our best chance for a second title.

if he stops gator arming and being a pussy in general then I'll recant. If he continues to be completely physically dominated repeatedly while talking shite and showing off after every catch regardless of down and position and gametime then there is no reason for me to change my stance.

You're right. I hope we sign him for 18 million a year and Brees gets sacked 47 times next season because our TE cant block worth a shite. Then we are unable to field a team the next 5 years.

I agree with you, but we're not talking about politics or making informed decisions...we're talking about people bashing Graham for basically nothing that will then "crawfish" when it's convenient to do so and when he's locked up long-term as a Saint.
