But I would acquire the player or players needed through free agency. Draft the best O-Lineman at 27 and build from there.

The Vikings had 2 and yeah that didn't work out so well. In terms of what to draft.... After the last 2 years with Ireland, I'll just sit back and watch him work some draft/FA magic!

Gonna need a QB in a year or so. Wouldn’t mind trading the farm for mayfield

Problem is that elite rushers demand some of the biggest contracts. Which is why getting a stud pass rusher via the draft is a gift from God.

i agree 100%, just imagine if Cam Jordan had a elite pass rusher on the opposite side. It would only make his life better.

Hope he comes back healthy and in B&G. Liked his play vs the run as well as on the QB.

That doesn’t exist. Everybody whiffs.

I said this exact thing a few days ago but, after watching Ireland for two years I'll let him decide who we draft and who we sign. Okafor would be a great start, he was 10x the player I thought he would be....With the way we can move Cam inside on third and long I'd like to get a guy that starts out as just a 3rd down guy edge rusher. That way we aren't locked into a D lineman 1st. But as always, who knows

Pass rush is more important than ever with the rules the way they are. The combination of how much pressure you get vs how many people you have to send, is a good indicator of how good you’ll be on defense.

Why?

Foles, Keenum, Bradford, Cousins may be available

I believe our next QB is already on a roster somewhere.

If we want to win another Super Bowl with Brees we take a player that has the same or more impact than Ram,we can not waste that pick on a player sure to sit on the sideline

This. You take a flyer on mid-late round Qbs you can develop (i.e. Garropolo/Castle). You don't use 1st round pick on a QB while Brees is still healthy.

This is why pass rusher shouldn't be as big of a need as people are saying. There are more Okafor's in FA/Draft than V. Millers/JJ.Watt/etc.

Would rather choose best player available then reach for a pass rusher via draft. If one is there awesome, if not keep moving.

Agreed. Look at the kind of pressure the Jags were getting with four men. Saints are still too reliant on blitzing to get regular pressure.

Late in the game against the Pats they hardly got to Brady at all without blitzing. And the Patriots OL is average at best.
