quote:

Aaron Rodgers,

was the antithesis of what people say about Mayfield... Rodgers was said to be too "robotic" at times and that he wasn't good under pressure... exact opposite of Mayfield, where his issues have been said to be he's not fundamentally sound and best when there's chaos around him...

quote:

Russell Wilson

had some similar concerns as Mayfield, in terms of pocket passing, but never had his technique questioned... in fact, that was one of his strengths... along with his football IQ and his ability to read the field....

quote:

Carson Wentz

is so far on the other end of the spectrum vs. Mayfield, the only positive similarity is their ability to scramble and move the chains with their legs....

starters, wentz is much taller, bigger, and athletically inclined... he played in a pro-style attack, under center more than in shotgun... higher release point, with more classic NFL delivery/throw... doesn't try to "fit" the ball into windows, unlike Mayfield who's more of a "gunslinger" type of guy....

again, Mayfield is a hell of a college QB... great story too, with the walk on and shite... but in terms of the next level, i just don't see it.... there a plenty of really, really good QBs that had tons of success (even winning the Heisman) that just didn't cut it in the NFL... i see him more in that mold than anything....

there is a reason there is 1 starting QB in the NFL from the Big 12 Conf... and his name is Andy Dalton, not exactly the "shining star" you want to make your argument based off of...

Which turned out to be bullshite.

More bullshite.

Just like Wilson, Mayfield's height may come into question. Besides that, the only questions concerning Mayfield will be his ability to keep his composure against trash talking coming his direction. There are no questions concerning his football IQ & matter of fact, that is a strength. Mayfield is said to live in the film room & weight room. No one out works him. On the other hand, you used Manziel as a comparison. At A&M, Manziel did not watch film, practiced when he felt like it & even physically attacked an assistant coach. Again, more bullshite.

Wait, what?! So being able to make tight window throws is now viewed as a negative?

I swear draft discussion brings out the tard in a lot of posters.

And what was that again?!

Conference affiliation or the college attended is meaningless. It all boils down to the individual themselves. If every GM thought like you Steve McNair (Alcorn St), Ben Roethlisberger, (Miami Ohio), & Carson Wentz (North Dakota St) would have never been drafted in the first round. I guess the only QBs worthy of 1st round grades play in the SEC, right?

offensive scheme and/or experience vs. good defenses do though... you'd be hard pressed to think that him playing primarily in a shotgun set, more often than not, vs. piss poor Big 12 defenses week in and week out, could be considered a "positive" for him in his evaluation...

hell no... actually the SEC doesn't put out many "great" QBs anyway.... Big 10 and PAC 12 puts out more consistent talent at that position...

yes, because that's EXACTLY what should be concluded about what i'm saying about Mayfield...

hey, you like him... i get it... i don't share your view of him... there are at least 6 other QBs I'd take as a professional QB over him, but whatever... one of us will be proven right, over time...

and as far as my "analysis", a majority of what i've posted is what scouts have said about all the players mentioned (Mayfield, Wentz, Rodgers, etc.....) go look it up... i just happen to agree with what they are saying, but i'm not breaking any new ground with what i'm saying....

Internet scouts. It's funny that use that same internet scout analysis who were wrong in the past, to measure Mayfield's potential yet you don't see the issue there?

heavy class simply means that there will be a larger number of available players at said position in a particular draft.

Wtf?? There’s a large number of QB’s available every year. Not sure how many you want to lead your team, but you can draft them. Are you serious?

And as far as Grier, ok. Didn’t know.
