The moment was too big for him.
He was arriving early and he just ducked his head to avoid contact. All he had to do was arrive as the receiver landed and tackle him. Game over.
Instead he was screaming down and hesitated to then duck. He didn't even try to touch him.
Why he did not just take a pace to Diggs and wait for him to fall is where he failed.
He was not prepared mentally for what it took to win. All he had to do was realize as long as the player is inbounds the game is over.
As I said, the situation was too big. He will not and should not be afforded the opportunity to overcome such failure on our team as that trust is lost. He won't recover mentally while here and needs a fresh start. Trade him if you can or cut him. Regardless he is tainted meat.
Can't keep that on the team. The players will never forget. Regardless of what they may say in the media of having his back.

I think his teammates showed him their respect and supported his humanity.
Poor guy...
@alex_flanagan
#saints Rookie safety Marcus Williams feel to his knees on his way to locker room after his missed tackle cost saints the game and then inside the locker cried with his head in his hands.

He gone. Every time Payton looks at him, that play is the first thing that will be in his mind. So he gone.

God, shut the frick up. Dude is a young player, made a mistake that he will never forget. He also made the interception earlier in the game. Yeah, it sucks, but to blame the loss solely on that play is ridiculous. Grow up and get a life.

That play was so bad, I believe he was paid to flop.

quote:You're the soft one! He makes a bad play, so you suggest trading him? A rookie that's played exceptionally well all year? Trade him?
