We all saw that Allen and Fields were bad last night. But I was impressed with Quentin Meeks. Was good in run support and played tight on his man in underneath coverage. Looks like a solid option for secondary depth. Not much on him, but here’s what I found.

Dad is Ron Meeks who played in the CFL then coached DBs for several teams and was a Defensive Coordinator for Panthers (‘11) and Chargers (‘12).

Quentin was a 3 star safety out of high school with offers from Stanford, Cal, Vanderbilt and Boston College. He played 3 years at CB for the Cardinal and started his Sophomore and Junior year. He had 120ish tackles and 7 interceptions (2 returned for TDs). He was 2nd team all PAC-12. He declared for the draft and went undrafted. He was signed by the Jags and has had the following NFL career, mostly as a backup and special teamer.

Jacksonville Jaguars (2018)
Los Angeles Chargers (2019–2020)
Jacksonville Jaguars (2020)
Tennessee Titans (2021) practice squad only
New Orleans Saints (2022)

He played for Tampa Bay in the USFL in 2022 posting 47 tackles and an interception.

Below are some of his recruiting and pro day numbers. Looks like He is not a speedster and might be a good fit at safety in a few years.

Meeks, 26, played for the USFL’s Tampa Bay Bandits earlier this year after spending last summer with the Tennessee Titans, though his last NFL snaps came in 2020, largely on special teams. He’s spent most of his pro career on the Los Angeles Chargers and Jacksonville Jaguars practice squads after turning pro out of Stanford.

Saw him pop up a couple times as well, but the person I noticed more than he was #30 Justin Evans. Evans’ speed was noticeable and just looked different, and he showed a glimpse as to why he was drafted in the 2nd round

Love justin evans. Looks like he is finally healed and playing good ball. Great to have a player of his caliber in your arsenal.
