Well Green Bay is winning and the Saints are winning. Still have a shot at the playoffs. Can someone let me know what needs to happen the rest of the season.

If Chicago wins any of their remaining 2 games we have no shot, I think.

Redskins could win the division, we beat Dallas, and have Saints, Dallas, and Giants all finish with 8 losses and we all would split head to heads. I don't know what the tiebreak is there.

Redskins could also lose 2 more games get to 8 losses, Giants win division, and have the above tiebreak situation, Saints, Dallas, Redskins with 8 losses. I know the Saints get in the playoffs in that scenario.

2 of the saints losses are to AFC teams.

We'd finish 6-6 in conference.
New York would be 7-5.
Dallas would be 5-7.

Basically, we're shite out of luck.

So we're rooting for Wash to win out and Giants to lose out basiclly?

Giants losing out wouldn't really help us. Their conference record is better than ours, and they beat us head-to-head.

We need New York to win the division and Washington to lose out I'm pretty sure. We'd hold a three-way tie-breaker between, say, Dallas and Washington, if Dallas beats Washington.

I think we have 2 chances to get in:

If Dallas and Giants both finish 8-8 with Dallas beating the Redskins, the Redskins win the division at 9-7, the Saints get in as the 6th seed over the Giants and Dallas.
So Giants losing out, but Redskins winning the division

OR

If Dallas and Redskins both finish 8-8, the Giants win the division, and the Saints get in as the 6th seed over the Redskins and Dallas.
So Redskins losing out, but Giants winning the division

We would still need Chicago to lose out though.

Chicago plays @Arizona and @Detroit

I can see Detroit winning, in fact I'll pick them in that one, but Arizona is so bad.

quick question maybe you can clear up, but if we finish at 8-8, and so does washington, how do we go in ahead of them? They won the head to head with us. Isn't that the first tie-breaker?

ETA: Nevermind
quote:

Three or More Clubs (Note: If two clubs remain tied after third or other clubs are eliminated, tie breaker reverts to step 1 of applicable two-club format.) 1. Apply division tie breaker to eliminate all but the highest ranked club in each division prior to proceeding to step 2. The original seeding within a division upon application of the division tie breaker remains the same for all subsequent applications of the procedure that are necessary to identify the three Wild-Card participants
It goes to division record when 3 teams are tied. I guess we would have a better division record

If you are listening to post game on WWL don't listen to that hack Bellevia. Saints will NOT be eliminated with a Seattle win

Yeah because at this point Seattle should just win out and take that first WC spot. That would help more than anythjng

Only way we go to sleep tonight without a chance at the playoffs is if Dallas beats Pittsburgh.

Wait now we want Dallas to win? If they win today and then beat the Skins the last week they'd get to 9 and eliminate us

It goes to division record between the two tied teams from the east. Once one is knocked out, then it would be head-to-head between the remaining team and the Saints. The Saints record in the South has no influence.
