Goodwin was out of the league two years after he left the Saints. Unger was an upgrade.
Goodwin was just about finished his NFL career when he re-signed with the Saints, he played for the Jets before the Saints and re-signed to help the Saints so it's messed up to try and dump on the man. But when he left the Saints after having some solid years for them in his first stint he moved on to the 49ers and had a few solid years with them, but after that he was in his mid 30's and really done when he tried to play 1 more season for the Saints to help them at center.

Armstead and Ram are significantly better than Bushrod and Stinch.
Armstead certainly has talent, but the only thing he's proven so for is that he's injury prone, and Ramczyk is still a young player with potential and a lot to prove. But I think you underestimate Bushrod who was a Pro Bowler I think for a couple of seasons at least and Stinchcomb (1 Pro Bowl I think) who was a slightly more solid player imo than Strief.

I know Evans and Nicks are supposed to be revered on o-line Rushmore, but Warford/Peat are just as good. Probably better at run blocking.

And Evans / Nicks were not HOF caliber. Get real people.

Both these guys were all-pro, and both were the 2 highest paid guards in the NFL at the time. Nicks isn't a HOF guy thanks to his infection shortened career, but he was once first team and once second team all-pro.

I think Evans has a very real shot at the HOF. He was a 4 time first team all pro, once made the second team, and made 6 pro bowls in 12 years as a starting guard. That's an incredibly impressive resume, I think he makes it to Canton for sure.

I like our guards a lot now, I'd say they are probably comparable to our tackles play in '09. They aren't in the same league as Nicks/Evans in their prime though.

If healthy IMO yes they're the best. 2009 was good as hell though.
