He is nowhere NEAR the qb Winston is. That’s absolutely ridiculous. Not a single nfl team would start him at qb. He’s not a qb. Great player. Horrendous qb.

So Payton chose Winston as the starting QB over Hill for what reason? Because Winston is the better QB. Hands down. I think Payton was really just humoring him by even pretending there was an actual competition. This really isn’t something that is even worth debating unless someone is extremely biased towards Hill. Offer every GM or HC in the NFL the choice of Winston or Hill (using Hill only as QB1) and not one single team would choose Hill. Why are some people so hell bent to make him a QB when he’s so great at the role he plays? That’s where his talent is, and he’s very talented and valuable. But not at QB.

That old argument is garbage. You don’t have to have played team sports to evaluate a player or team.
That’s like saying your opinion on a politician isn’t valid unless you’ve worked in politics, or you can’t properly assess a paint job unless you’ve worked as a painter.
