Loomis controls what is said about him. Saints report is a prime example- you are not allowed to talk about the front office. I'm guess the Saints are financial reporters. The reporters that get "inside" info are limited in how much they will say that is negative

Agree that 2027 should be the year, assuming the front office actually takes the proper approach to clear cap and not trying to sign "that one guy" to help us make a run.
Loomis didn’t make a big expensive signing this past year. And he traded Lattimore. I’m hopefully he’s in the mindset of rebuild and not flashing signings.
I agree that we need to have some solid draft classes the next two years. We need more safe-solid building blocks like Fuaga, Kool-aid and Breese. And we need to find some contributors in the later rounds.
We don’t need to cut or trade Carr. That does nothing to help the cap and we just need to let him play out his contract. He’s a slightly above average QB and we aren’t getting anyone better than him by cutting him. Cutting him is an emotional fan sentiment, not a serious logistical strategy. We need to build a team like Detroit and Minnesota have done through the draft.

Carr, Cam, Mathieu, Taysom
From what I interpreted on the cap list none of these players will produce a saving if they are not on the roster in 2025.
The only one that will not cost more than their cap hit is Taysom and that would save about $300k..
Carr would add an additional $50 million to the cap if cut. No way the saints avoid an extension of Carr to get under the cap.
Cam is a $20 million cap hit if cut and about the same if he remains on the roster. Maybe a June 1 cut give a saving and move some to dead money in 26.
Same for Mathieu. There is no cap saving to cutting him. He would cost about thee same on or off the roster.

Detroit picked in the top 8 four years in a row. Formed the foundation of their team. Why? They were bad enough to pick there
Carr winning 7 games for you does nothing for you. You don’t have the resources to surround him with studs everywhere. So you roll out Rattler or Haener where you either lose a bunch of games or discover you have a QB
It was logical for Denver to eat $80+ million of dead money for Russ. Reset the whole organization.
