The Saints don't need a top-tier coach to be hired ...

Even if the Saints would have landed a top-tier coach, they still need to blow it up for at least one, if not two years. Let's say the hire is made and the Saints are on the playoff fence. Do you think Loumis will still kick the can down the road? Of course he will, thus putting us further in Salary Cap Hell.
Hire a lame duck coach for a year or so, get rid of all the dead cap money, quit kicking contract money further down the road, trade away old talent, hit on some good young talent in the draft, and then start looking for your franchise coach.

Under your scenario: Paging Drew Brees.
Brittany Brees and the kids can stay in San Diego. Brees can commute very often and even have the kids fly in for some games.
Don’t expect Malcolm Jenkins on the staff. Knee pads for all staff when necessary.

or....
you hire Moore and let him come in and build his culture during a couple of downs years. the fans will support him with low expectations bc of our roster.
If he is as good of a coach as we all hope he can be.... Loomis will give him the control to build his roster and personnel.
No way Moore or most coaches will take this job unless Mickey pours his support and trust into them.

Support & trust is one thing, but Mickey is going to wheel and deal & put us further in Salary Cap Hell.

It's really like some of you haven't been paying attention.

I sure have. Allen sucked with his roster moves and Loomis supported.
A new coach is gonna want to clean house. If they take the job you can bet your arse that is part of the deal.

This is my biggest fear honestly.
I don’t really care if they go with rhetoric up and comer or the established guy. Just don’t cut any more corners. We don’t have any of the pieces needed to make any kind of meaningful run.
Get a solid talent base and then work towards that shite. If you happen to catch lightning in a bottle with a draft class all the better but stop the trading up, the pushing money out, etc.
