Yea, Taysom didn't exactly play against Donald in the Pre-Season where you saw him prevail.

Except for all the snaps Taysom gets in the regular season...

Not running a typical offense, and as a gimmick to catch the defense off guard. Hardly comparable.

I want to see Taysom at QB as well, but this is a bad argument.

So two zone reads a game.

It's about on the level that Taysom has only played against players who are no longer in the league...

[quote]I guess a wasted traded pick and $7 million guaranteed wins out and we are “obligated” to start Teddy.[/

Exposed now they are thanks to you. I never thought the org the staff and the coaches wouldn't play the QB that they thought would give them the best chance to win but your post changed my mine. Fire them all. From Loomis on down to the water boy. You can't have such poor management in a billion dollar company

This is such bull shite. He threw 14 td’s and 9 interceptions in sixteen games. He barely eclipsed 3k yards passing that season. He generated 9 total points, no touchdowns and less than 150 yards passing in the playoff game.

Why does no one talk about this? Why do people have this revisionist history of Teddy being some great QB?

Because they see "former pro bowler" and just assume he was some great QB at one point.

I was really shocked Taysom didnt get any snaps at QB. Lots of times where I think Teddy could of ran, if Taysom was in there might of been some nice plays. Wasnt like Teddy was throwing it well anyways.

After reading through this thread, it's clear everyone is frustrated and most want to see Taysom Hill.

But we're not thinking about what we lose if we put Hill under center. Hill is essentially a wild card for us on the field, a pure athlete, and he forces and/or finds mismatches. He's the kind of player that frustrates defenses. To remove him from that role right now and put him under center might hurt the overall offensive scheme.

Note, i think Hill is the future but it's probably going to take an offseason for Payton to scheme for Hill's skill set.

A fair point. But seriously even when we first signed Teddy and made him the highest paid backup in the league I had this feeling of being like "wait, wasn't he not that great as a starter? Eh. I guess I'm wrong. Cause Sean wouldn't do this unless there was evidence he'd be valuable."

But, in everything I've seen from him as a Saint he's just been very underwhelming and no different from most backups whether it's preseason or the 16th game last year. I really wish that money was invested into other positions.

Thank you. Getting so sick and tired of these Taysom nut huggers. TB had 496 yds, 3 tds and an int against 1st and 2nd string. Taysom had 443 yds, 3tds and an int against 10th string players.. but yet he's so much better than Teddy. Taysom was 40 of 57, Teddy was 43 of 70

No one is mistaking Teddy Bridgewater for Dan Marino. He was a legit starter for an NFL team for more than a year. Its about experience. His stats weren't good. He's terrible, the great white hope is so much better, etc. . . . . .

Question - did Teddy have a talented play caller like Sean Payton while he was in Minnesota? Was he in a wide open throwing offense? No. Different systems. Different expectations. So, those stats mean absolutely nothing - not to mention those are from like 5 years ago. Stop drooling on Taysom Hill. I like the kid too. He is not a full time QB. If he was truly better and offered a better shot for us to win then Payton would take him out of his gimmick role, and make him our starter.
