Yeah, that's why they traded up 13 spots to get him. Its obvious that Harbaugh is a ranter.

That may very well be the case, but if he liked Vacarro better, what would you expect him to say? "We liked Reid a lot, but the guy we really wanted went 3 spots ahead of where we felt comfortable trading up to."

People can only trade up for the best player at their position?

I'd expect him to keep bitching about Jarvis Jones.

Pure LSU bias

Yep...I love LSU players as much as anyone, but everything I saw before the draft points to the fact we made the right call...

Yes, because that's what I said. Look, I hope Vacarro is rookie-of-the-year. The 49ers have a better track record lately than the Saints on decisions regarding defense. That doesn't mean we didn't get the better guy, but it's fairly obvious that the two teams disagreed on who was the better safety prospect in this draft.

Saints traded up for Ellis in 2008 when we wanted Dorsey. the 49ers have 1,000 picks this year, everyone expected them to trade. Taking a safety off the board may have forced their hand

Like I said, Vacarro was far and away the best safety in the draft. The only one considered a unanimous 1st round pick.

Harbaugh can say all he wants to look like the 49ers got their guy, but not many are buying that.

Reid was hurt the entire year last season. Never bitched, dude had a deep thigh bruise the whole year. Though as nails.

you play 16 games in the NFL, every player is hurt. Seems to be a reoccurring injury because the same thing happened in 2011

Eric Reid is a solid football player and has proven it at LSU. What idiots say don't matter. The kid pressed to hard last season tryin to become what Tyrann Mathieu was to LSU and his play suffered because of it.

When I made this thread, I really wasn't trying to call out Reid or the 49ers so much as I was thinking aloud about the Saints Talk fanbase. I think Reid will be rock solid; I just think Vaccaro will be better, and most draft pundits and our FO also seem to think so. And yet our fanbase just flipped their shite, with many of them saying Reid was clearly better. I'm not buying it.
