How do you all feel about teaming these two ILBs up in our 3-4. Two young hard hitting middle linebackers who will bring physical presence to our defense.

Terrible. I want to go back to a 4-3 and neither Anthony nor Ragland can cover dick w/ a condom.

Stephone Anthony and Jaylon Smith for me. Even if we have to pick Jaylon in the 2nd round, well worth it.

I'd like the pick because it would nice to finally have some real players at LB and not just bodies. But I have to think we go either best pass rusher or a big d-lineman like one of the Bama guys.

we need a jaylon smith or myles jack type, not a ragland type.

Forget these "types". Ragland is the best LB in the draft IMO. The guy will make plays in the league.

Are we a 3-4?
Is Anthony a bust?

One of these has to be a Yes to even entertain the thought of drafting Ragland.

I don't think either of those would have to be yes. Who's one other consistent LB we have? Ellerbee is our next "best" but he can barely stay on the field. Hawthorne sucks and Humber is at best a stopgap and special teamer. If he's your highest rated player I don't think you hesitate to take him.

Now I still agree I'd much rather just about anyone on the D-line instead, but I wouldn't be angry at that pick at all.

You putting Anthony on the outside? They are both MIDDLE linebackers, unless we're sticking with a form of 3-4, then its not even a first round thought.

I think this team is better suited for a 4-3 defense. If they don't think any DL are worthy of the 12th pick, my top choices are Jaylon Smith, Myles Jack and Darron Lee. All of them are amazing athletes that can rush the passer, run with tight ends and RBs, as well as play the run. Go watch Lee's highlights and tell me he's not an exciting possibility.

I did a bit of research on the mackenzie alexander kid yesterday. fairly impressive cornerback. extremely dedicated to his craft etc. Definitely all in on D on this pick.

That the Clemson CB #2? I like him a lot too and wouldn't be mad at a DB pick. Him or Ramsey.

Yeah I clearly remember him talking smack to Shepard and even Mayfield before the game and absolutely backed it up. It'd be nice to have a guy like that in the secondary

Unless Ragland runs better at the combine, Jaylon Smith is the better option. Ragland plays behind some monsters but still looks slow on the field.

While that would be nice, if you plan to run a 3-4, then absolutely and unequivocally need a NT.
