Draft day will bring legitimate conversation, ever player released by their team? Not so much
I disagree with this statement.

As long as Brees remains as good as he is, the Saints are a couple of defensive moves away from being a Super Bowl team. In 3 years a drafted player will be more productive than Harrison (or another old free agent) would be; but Brees might not be the guy he is now.

If we can find a 1 year fix and it results in another ring, it would be worth it IMO

There's nothing to disagree about. In this period of the offseason there is only speculation to talk about. I cannot wait to discuss actual Saints news.

This is Saints news. Saints may be looking for a guy like this to add depth to the OLB rotation. He is a veteran who has big time experience in a 3-4.

The price would have to be really right. The guy has had a lot of injuries the past two years, plus he's coming off of a 6 sack season (way off of his averages) at age 34. Maybe just a hair more than the veteran minimum.

more important than production for any potential free agent the "at the right price" phrase is more key. We're still over the cap three days before free agency.

For someone long in the tooth like Harrison any kind of short term show me deal is what the goal is. Everyone sez yeah go after another guy like Sharper. What most forget is that Sharper was that he came cheap cuz there were no other serious suitors for him. He was viewed as used up. He did have one last tank of gas to burn however. Harrison could or could not be such a player. He's surely one of the baddest arse intimidating pplayers in the NFL. The swag sure couldn't hurt.

I've been pushing Shaun Phillips (another SD refugee if Brees & Sproles vouch for him) as a vet that still is productive that won't command a bank breaking deal.

Victor Butler is a Dallas guy than many thought was the heir apparent to Anthony Spencer. His familiarity with RR's system makes sense too. (like a Prioleau following GW or Chamberlain to Spags).
