With the Sanders signing, I thought it would be a good time to talk a look at the offense as a whole and evaluate the state of things. Depending on how this quarantine goes, I'm down to do a position by position evaluation once a day or something. Not claiming to be Mike Mayock or Kiper here but would be a fun distracting from the current state of affairs

Offensive Line:
- It's hard to feel better, on paper, about the offensive tackles than we do in New Orleans. No one has a better duo in the league. That being said, Armstead is always an injury question mark, and the fact of the matter is these two got worked by the Vikings front 4 in the playoff game. There's no reason to expect them to perform anything less than what we're accustomed to. All I'll say is for the position, just go out and execute at a high level in the biggest moments. Other than that, hard to complain about much as the position.
-Guard: Peat has been much maligned on here, and rightfully so. I'll just say this, he's likely a top 10 LG, maybe top 8, in the league and when he's healthy, he's above average, especially in the run game. Warford took a step back last year and needs to lose 10 or so pounds, he wasn't as lean last year and it showed. Need production from these 2 to be back at the 2018 level. Oddly, I felt like the OL was at it's best when Easton was a starter last year. Think we need to rotate him in from time to time and think it would be beneficial. If he's your 6th OL you are in good shape.
-Center: Love what we saw from McCoy. His feet are insane. If he keeps growing we are in good hands for years to come.

Running Backs:
- Alvin Kamara was not healthy last year, that's been suggested and now confirmed by AK himself via twitter. He still had a solid year for a RB, but didn't have that same juice we're accustomed to seeing. If hes back to that this offense gets even more dangerous.
- Murray: Needs more touches. Our offense is at its best when he's running downhill and the OL is mauling people

Receivers:
-Not going to dive into it too deeply but Samuel addition is massive. Gives us a quick twitch guy who can turn chicken shite into chicken salad. Runs awesome routes and will be lethal in the slot for us. Sean will use him so well.
- I think WR at 24 is still in play, and definitely in round 3. Getting a bigger body, YAC guy to put on the outside would make this offense complete. That allows sanders to work in the slot. Tee Higgins would be awesome but still go BPA. It's a deep class and we can get a contributor in a later round as well.
- Would love to do a draft profile on some receivers later this week

Quarterback:
- Drew back on a discount is huge. Having Sanders here will be so big for him. The deep ball isn't in play for him as much as it used to be and having somebody open underneath in single coverage will be stealing
- Not getting into a Taysom hill debate here.

Tight End:
- Saved this for last because I think the biggest benefactor of the Sanders signing is Jared cook. We saw how lethal he can be against the 49ers last year. If he stays in the game we win by 10+. Sanders now allows Cook to run completely 1 on 1 for the rest of the year. He's a vertical seam threat that will constantly be in single coverage. No longer can you help over the top on him unless you plan to let MT and ES run free. Split him in the slot as well and let him run wild. I think this is a guy that will be open a ton now and really opens up the offense.

Kamara at 100%, Thomas, Cook, Sanders, a top 5 OL, Murray, and Taysom Hill is a lethal offense. Pick your poison. There's no one in the league that has the personnel to matchup with this.

Let me know what y'all think. Would love to go position by position one day each week. If nothing else, need a distraction from the corona virus.

We’re above average to elite at every position besides guard. If we can just have one of Peat or Warford bounce back and have an above average year we’ll be near unstoppable.

I'm glad we got Sanders but he wasn't used as much with the 49ers outside of when he violated our secondary in the SF-Saints shootout game.

obviously in the playoff games the 49ers didn't have to throw much cause they never trailed I don't believe but here is what he did w/the 49ers:

@ Saints 7-157-1 TD 9 targets
vs. ATL 2-9-0 4 targets
vs. Rams 3-61-0 6 targets
@ SEA 3-25-0 4 targets

Playoffs
2-33-0 2 targets vs. Vikings
0-0-0 1 target vs. Green bay

Super Bowl
3-38-0 5 targets vs. KC

I think Sanders is great add and Ginn a solid subtraction. As far as veteran WR's go.

But we need another WR.

If someone at another position falls to us at 24 that has no business falling that far then yeah pick that guy but if not or that guy is a WR pick him on up I say.

Gotta spread the ball more on offense.

I agree L Cannon. BPA before need, hopefully it will be a little of both. As Sean likes to say.
