The Patriots had it taken to them by the Saints in 11-on-11 situations, and it started up front. The Patriots’ offensive line was one big sieve against the Saints’ active front and it threw off the entire offense, including QB Tom Brady, who only completed 7 of 16 passes (43.8 percent) and threw an interception. And because of injuries, the Saints were down to their 4-6 CBs for much of team drills. Conversely, the Saints’ terrific offensive line easily handled the Patriots up front as Drew Brees hit on 18 of his 26 passes (69.2 percent) with an interception.

The Patriots defense concluded before the offense so we were only able to see five reps for the Patriots, and it wasn’t pretty. RT Marcus Cannon, LG Dan Connolly, Brayon and RG Donald Thomas all were handily defeated by Junior Galette, Cameron Jordan and Braylon Broughton, respectively. C Ryan Wendell completely shutdown DT Alex Daniels, while LT Nate Solder did a real nice job against DE Will Smith.
There's a lot of little, yet detailed nuggets in there. The Patriots were a bit depleted at o-line, but I'm glad we were able to take advantage of it.

Braylon Broughton,
Glad to see his name mentioned.

I watched him for a couple of plays the last game. He wasn't doing so hot. The tackle was doing a good job of using his own momentum to take him out of the play. He seemed to get boxed out easily. I think he's a long term project.

I think the saints should at least keep him on the practice squad.

Unless he rips it up the next couple of games I'm sure he'll make it to the PS safe. He wasn't even a full time starter in college. He's very raw, but he's a physical specimen.

I wouldn't take too much out of the OL vs DL reports.
Only Solder and Connelly are starters for them. Missing are Brian Watters (Pro Bowler), Mankins (Pro Bowl).

Right. I realize they're missing starters. I'm just glad we're taking advantage. Last year (outside of the Chicago game) we really didn't do that.

I only wish we could get coverage like that from the T-P crew. They've seemingly gone to videos primarily for reporting. That and linking ya to what other writers put out. Kinda sad.
Reminds me... the official Saints site is pretty sad too. Look at the homepage... Billy Miller's blog from 2009 is still there.

I remember the game summary from the san fran game was up for like 5 months!

Very sad.

Me too. In fact I might send them the link. They're much more detailed.

I went to the saints practice last week and Braylon stood out physically. He is a big Galette. He maybe raw but when the two lines went against each other in single drills he looked better than Cam Jordon. I know I'm not an expert but I wold like to hear a coach's opinion of him. He looks like the guys on the giants D-line.

dammit man. I missed this earlier. I couldn't tell what threads were what about those fricking practices for a while. You had one about dogs, one about Brady's wife, and Jimmy Graham got dinged for a second so some softy started a thread about it
Excellent news so far I'm trying to to get too wound up so far about the D-line but I'm not gonna ignore any positive news
