How mad will you be if we end up 10th-15th in the draft with no playoff appearance? If only we could've beat Arizona and Philly.

I wouldn't be mad at all.

How can you not want this team to compete and gun for a wildcard spot?

I don't think teams actually tank that much in the NFL.

That's more of a fan fantasy.

True. I guess it's something to be said that we don't completely suck, we're average at the minimum.

frick tanking!!! Said it before, so I'll just copy and quote:

quote:

There is no LeBron James or Anthony Davis in the draft who will make this team a contender next year.

OBJ was drafted 12th, C.J. Mosely was 17, and Sheldon Richardson was drafted 13th. Luke Motherfricking Kuechly was drafted 9th!!!

People need to lose the tanking mentality. It can work in basketball. It doesn't work in the NFL. Ask Detroit and Cleveland and Jacksonville and the Raiders.

And I'll add, we are in year one of what will likely be a three year rebuild. We have some young players. I want them to fight and develop and be studs. I don't want this down in the dumps mentality that the fanbase has to be how guys like Breaux and Kakaha and Anthony and Cooks and Armstead play. You play to win the game!!!

If we have 2 more drafts like this one, this team will contend for a championship. Hell, we could be quite good next year. What's hurting us is dead money ala junior/jimmy etc.

Oh, and Byrd.

We have played more rookie snaps than any other team in the league, by a good margin I believe

Those guys learning what it takes to win, staying competitive, etc is far more important to our future than draft position.

Even if we end up short this season, it'll be something to grow on

I'm of the mindset that if you're going to tank, really fricking tank! If we were to be tanking and trying to build through draft picks they could've traded players like Drew, Keenan, and Byrd and try to stockpile some picks.......They obviously have elected not to do that and have appeared to have gotten things turned around these last few games however I am still skeptical about our offense and if we can consistently win games without a legit #1WR (Cooks not there yet at least) or a big time receiving TE. But our defense is playing well enough to keep us in ball games, which is just shocking to say with CSP as head coach

There are only 6 teams in the NFC with sure fire better records than us... We have an easy schedule coming up to finish this out, there should be no reason a true Saints fan doesn't want to try and get to the playoffs. Anything can happen and there is no team that can't be beat.

The buccaneer and panther losses are the ones that hurt us the most. Both considering how close they were at the end and the division implications.

Considering how well we drafted at 13 last year, not sure I'd be that mad if we were picking 15th

If we somehow made the playoffs, I think it would push those guys even more and make them better in the future.

If you want to tank, there's a team five or six hours down I-10 you can cheer for.

As a fan that watches every week, it's still nice to root for your team to win.

Even if that means 6-9 wins.. it's still more enjoyable than constantly losing.. How nice is it that the teams we have beat are the Cowboys, the Falcons, and the Colts.

anything can change during the season.. there is no reason to just give up given there are some really bad teams around the league and plenty of football left.

Tampa tanked the 2nd half of a game last year but this ain't exactly the NBA.
