My point exactly. He had less touchdowns passing.

in 155 fewer attempts and 1 fewer game. That means Rodgers was more effective. He also had more rushing TD's so Rodgers actually had 1 more total TD than Brees, despite playing 1 less game and throwing 155 fewer passes. Get it?

NO

The award is not for Most Valuable Team, Or Most Stats for a Player, or Most Effective Player, or Most Hypothetically great player. It is Most Valuable Player and Drew Brees is exactly that. The Most valuable Player in the NFL.

Has anyone said "Because I'm a Saints Fan, I think Aaron Rodgers is a piece of shite and wouldn't let him be on my Son's Jr. High football team"? No. No one is arguing that Rodgers had a great, great season. BUT....Brees had one for the record books.

Why do you hate Drew Brees?

when you have to resort to a strawman argument, it means you are not winning the argument.

I love Drew Brees, I HATE ignorance and blind bias.

You have said (in more than 1 post) that Rodgers was very good, while Brees was great. I have said (in more than 1 post) that BOTH have a case for MVP. How you conclude I "hate" Brees from that is a mystery.

You've only done this about 10 times in this thread....

I can see we are at an impasse.

You clearly do not understand MVP nor how amazing of a player Drew Brees is REGARDLESS of how any other QB played this season. Arron is good, Drew is the Most Valuable Player. I refuse to argue with you more, so i shall leave yo with this:

Like you casting assumptions on everyone who supported Brees for MVP you didn't think Rodgers was great.

Also, none of your arguements matter because of that mind numbingly stupid assed NE Tight End coment you made.

By bandwagon, I guess you mean unbiased lol.

In no way can any TRUE saints fan say that Brees should not be the MVP this season

You realize by saying this, you basically are admitting that you're too biased to objectively choose an MVP guy here, right?

If you want to truly be unbiased, your loyalties would have nothing to do with your pick.

MVP not MVT

What is MVT?

quote:

Not relevant. We are comparing Drew Brees and Aaron Rodgers.

Its completely relevant to your definition of MVP. Which btw is just that, your definition.

quote:

I said Green Bay would be better off without Rodgers than the Saints would be without Drew Brees

That's completely subjective, impossible to prove and meaningless. It could just mean GB has a better over all team, Rodgers should not be punished for that.

And what does better off mean? Maybe GB would be 8-8 without Rodgers and the Saints 6-10? That's not a significant enough difference. If you swapped Brees, Rodgers and Brady, I don;t think you'd see much difference in the 3 teams. By that I mean if the Saints had Brady instead of Brees, I think they do just as well and just as poorly if he was missing.

Wrong. My argument pertained to the argument between Aaron Rodgers and Drew Brees, the top 2 candiadates for MVP. Peyton Manning not in the argument and as someone else pointed out, not playing.

yeah, I hoped on in 1977, just in time to see the 0-26 Tampa Bay Buccaneers win their first ever game

I was also at the first ever playoff game a 45-10 loss to Minnesota and every other home playoff game, including the first playoff win until the 06 Eagles game.

In no way can any TRUE saints fan say that Brees should not be the MVP this season. It's not even an argument in my group of people. Drew is having one of the greatest seasons of all time and has broken multiple longstanding records along with teammates

He certainly has a great case as does Rodgers, why is that so hard for you and your group to accept? Being blindly biased does not make you a better fan, it makes biased.

quote:

Rodgers backup comes in today, AND SETS the FRANCHISE RECORD for yards and touchdowns.

What more proof do you need

LOL. Wut? What proof are you offering?

Rodgers more TDs, better YPA, fewer turnover, team had better record.

Brees more cumulative yards, better comp %. Both NFL records.

Pretty good case for both.

Lulz

Dude Brees has 1 more TD and Rodgers is actually 14-1

Drew had the greatest statistical year for a QB ever there for he edges out Rodgers.

Since when is saying that Drew deserves the MVP more than Rodgers equated to blind bias?

Dude, actually , Rodgers had 48 TDs and brees had 47, in 1 less game no less.

True, but still better than 13-3.

Depends on what statistics you look at. Like I said earlier, Rodgers was way better in other statistics, but it's stats you don't see on ESPN or espn.com, but rest assured, they're at leaset just as important and IMO do a much better job at judging efficiency.
