I would trade Ingram for Aaron Brooks if he was on a roster.

It's not like Aaron Brooks was garbage. He was a good backup for us at one time.

What purpose would he serve now?

Wait, why am I even entertaining the idea?

Payton has been the only one steadfast in his refusal to criticize Ingram on his lack of production. Sayin crazy things like he had some good runs out there. And all this stems from is him not wanting to admit that they were wrong in using a No 1 on Ingram when they've gotten a bevy of quality RB's without even drafting through free agency.

Or maybe he doesn't want to bad mouth his players to the media...

No, but what purpose would it serve saying he's not producing publicly? And what if, hypothetically, they are wanting to trade Ingram. Would it be smart to say your trade bait isn't producing?

The Times-Picayune made an interview request all week to talk with Ingram through the Saints. He never made himself available to speak despite the Saints' effortsI guess his 1.8 ypc speaks for itself.

Or maybe, just maybe, he's respectful.

Exactly. Throwing your players under the bus is a pretty bush league move. I know there are a lot of coaches in the NFL who do it but most of them are bottom feeders and/or have issues controlling their players. See, e.g., Schiano.
