If Cards wanna give up their third, I would keep negotiating cause you gotta do your job, but know that I’m perfectly fine just getting that pick. I don’t see that happening. But, maybe a SB winning coach known as offensive/qb genius is worth that pick. And Cards already have their qb.

In a world where the new rookie contract scale/CBA exists. Draft picks meant WAY less 20+ years ago than they do now. You guys need to stop using that as an example. This isn’t 2002 when teams hated first round picks because of their high cost, the 2011 rookie pay scale drastically changed draft pick value.

Chargers could maybe swing over their 1st if they’re that desperate, but I don’t think it’s a chance in hell Houston or Arizona give up their picks. They’re far behind talent-wise compared to the Chargers.

In 2002 those contracts weren’t super crazy just yet. 2005 and up was when it was getting nuts and peaked with Jamarcus Russell getting like 60 mill. Maybe Matt Stafford got a similar deal the next year or so then the NFL finally fixed things and it screwed over Cam Newton
