We all scratched our heads.

McCoy was a solid center (drafted 2nd round the year before) and Ruiz was also a center. McCoy was too undersized to be a guard even though most of us thought the plan was Ruiz at center and McCoy shifts to RG

The other options were all need too - Brandon aiyuk or tee Higgins (someone to pair with Michael Thomas), Jordan love (successor to Brees), Patrick queen (starting linebacker), etc.

We really fricked it up and then we doubled down with a 2nd contract instead of flipping him when teams inquired.

If you google his pff score they mention that after he recovered from his injury last year that he had improved his pass blocking score significantly from game 8 through the end of the season. You would hope he would have picked up where he left off at least with his pass blocking.

Both Tee Higgins and Brandon Aiyuk were still available and Justin Jefferson had just been taken 2 picks before.

The Saints are really shite at drafting sometimes. All LSU fans knew Jets would be a stud, but I guess you can understand everyone else not being sure about that. So let's stick with them not trading up a few spots to get him before Minn. Higgins was an easy choice among others. Ruiz made no sense as a pick for us and the fact he sucks just rubs it in yearly.

Good point. I have really tried not to look at the misses in the draft as to not piss me off lol.

The only 1 I've really let piss me off was not trading up for JJ and then spending more to trade up for Olave a year later. I wanted to kill people in the organization after seeing that chain of events.
