I'm all for a straight up 32nd for Butler. no extra picks involved.

Are we assuming no Butler here???

i say for sake of assumption, we're getting butler for pick 42 plus 3rd.

Well then that changes my choice... No CB. Obi or Jarrad Davis for me

Names coming to my head briefly if we're avoiding CB:

Zach Cunningham
Jarrad Davis
Garrett Bolles (2 offensive players in round 1 leans me away)
DeShone Kizer
Carl Lawson
Malik McDowell (not sure about need and few flags)
Tyus Bowser

Do we really need to draft a LB here since we signed 2 in FA, I'd be all in for Obi.

Unless Davis would play WLB or SLB, Teo and Klien are both MLB right?

Also, as far as PR, are we looking for a hand in the ground DE type or a blitzer like a Von Miller type?

Its gotta be a LB. I like Cunningham more than Davis.

Any thoughts on Saints pick on how we should even do it? Group or let someone make the call or what?

I say let's put the 10 (or so) highest graded defenders, with no more than 2-3 of them being the same position, and then 2 (or so) of the highest graded offensive players also thrown in, and then let people vote.

For instance, some of the highest graded defenders per NFL.com would be:

Tim Williams, OLB. Bama
Tredavious White, CB, LSU
Jarrad Davis, LB, Florida
Zach Cunningham, LB Vandy
Budda Baker, S, Washington
Tyus Bowser, DE/OLB Houston
Carl Lawson, DE Auburn

2 highest rated Offensive Players:

Garret Boles, OT Utah
Joe Mixon, RB, Oklahoma

SOmething to that effect.

Or just have everyone throw something out and discuss.

No, Not sold on him at 32. Maybe 2nd round if he's there. The two ILB are depth guys. No way they are long term solutions.

So if we're giving up 42 and a 3rd for Butler, and need a S but not Obi, next best is Budda Baker, which might be a reach IMO.

I'd be ok with an LB here, or T.White or Chidobe Awuzie

i could also live with an OT, Even Engram, or Mixon.

yeah, i don't see a safety pick here. We may get a mid to late round guy. budda baker reminds me of a vonn bell anyways. I like marcus sanders williams guy but i think safety can be addressed later. Even a late eddie jackson type pick.

i feel like the only logical choice would either be:

Davis, Bolles, Engram, or Mixon

Engram
Drafted O.J. Howard at 11. No need for another TE/WR Hybrid

With Engram, I wasn't considering him for TE at all. Just a miss match WR. But Drafting him is something I just really want the Saints to do so I put him down

Cunningham could also work instead of Davis

Cunningham or Lawson. Both fill a need/want without over reaching.
