The New Orleans Saints are getting down to business as the offseason begins.
On Monday, the organization signed center Cameron Tom, linebacker Vince Biegel, and long snapper Zach Wood to their exclusive rights free agent tenders, according to multiple reports.
Biegel played 14 games with the Saints this past season, logging 241 snaps on special teams, the fifth most on the team as a whole, and recording four total tackles.
A former fourth round draft pick by the Green Bay Packers, Biegel played in nine games at the linebacker position before he was waived by that organization this past September.
He joined the Saints through their practice squad on Sept. 2 and was then promoted to the active roster on Sept. 21, where he would remain for the rest of the 2018 campaign.
Undrafted from Southern Mississippi last season, Tom signed with the Saints as an undrafted free agent before the 2017 season, was waived that September, and then back onto their practice squad the next day. Promoted to the active roster on Oct. 25, 2017, making his NFL debut against Atlanta in the third week of this past season.
He played on 178 snaps on offense as a reserve blocker.
The 26 year old Wood went undrafted and signed with Dallas out of Southern Methodist. He was the subject of several transactions by the Cowboys, being waived as a rookie and then signed to a reserve futures contract before being waived finally last September. A week later, he was signed by the Saints.
As exclusive rights free agents, the Saints were the only team that these players were allowed to negotiate with, by NFL rules. The tender is a one year contract worth $645,000.
News of the Saints signing these three players to their tender offers follows reports that the team also signed defensive back and talented special teams contributor Justin Hardee to a one year contract.
A former wide receiver in college, Hardee made his name with the Saints as a special teams coverage man, last season blocking a punt against Tampa Bay that went for a touchdown.
This season, the Cleveland native made some noise with an interception in the Redskins game that he nearly returned for a touchdown when Lattimore was out. Hardee might be a player the Saints want to develop at the position, which could use some reliable depth.

Biegel was a sneakily good addition last season. Very good special teamer.
